Vacancies & Volunteering

We’re a small team here at The Sherriff Centre, delivering a wide variety of services to our community, seven days a week. We are always looking for volunteers to assist in the provision of these services and more!

Brand new volunteering opportunity for 2024!

We are looking for volunteers for our Food Share project. The project gives out food parcels to clients who have been referred to us and takes in surplus food that is donated from our community, which is then displayed on our shelves for anyone to take.

We need volunteers who;

Are available on Tuesday mornings

Are comfortable working directly with clients who use the project

Are happy to have a DBS check

Full training and support given. A fantastic opportunity to support your community.

Gardening Volunteers

We are looking for volunteers to help us with our small allotment on site at The Sherriff Centre. We grow a range of vegetables and some fruit which we use to add to the food parcels we give to our Food Share Project clients.

We are looking for volunteers who are free Monday to Saturday 9 – 5 to help water and harvest some of the produce.

Full instruction will be given plus a hot drink and a slice of cake!

Please email hello@thesherriffcentre.co.uk if interested.

Live Music Events

We’re recruiting for regular volunteers to assist us on Saturday evenings with our live music events, often hosted by Sofar Sounds. Volunteers will help with set up, pack down and serving customers in the bar. Volunteers can bring friends along for free, and will also receive free tickets for the next event we hold.

We’d love our Saturday evenings to run entirely by volunteers! No experience is necessary. A commitment of one event per month would be ideal. Saturday evenings 6.45pm – 10:45pm.
